Audition for our Conservatory Programs
Students are selected for our pre-professional conservatory programs for their potential and mental readiness to begin a rigorous training programby special invitation or audition only.
The Ballet Conservatory at Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy is an elite training program for talented and driven studentsaimed at preparing dancers for a professional career in classical ballet or contemporary dance with a strong classical ballet foundation. Dancers in the program train up to eight hours per day, with breaks for academics. In addition to classical Vaganova ballet technique, dancers also study pointe, variations, contemporary, music theory, stretch and strengthening, pilates, acting and more.
In-Person Auditions
We encourage all prospective students to audition in-person.

Video Auditions
If you are unable to attend an in-person audition, a $35 audition fee will be applied.
Videos should be no longer than 10 minutes long and include one of the following:
The audition submission should begin with a short technical demonstration at the barre and center. At the barre the student must include plies, tendues, ronde de jambe, passé and adagio developpe en croix.
In the center the dancer must include adagio, pirouettes, petite and grand allegro. The exercises can be short, but with enough repetition that the dancer can be seen clearly.
Please also include a classical variation, (on pointe for women) one to two minutes in length. If the dancer does not have a variation prepared please include a combination on pointe in the center.
