About Galina

Galina has more than 44 years of experience in the Ballet field. Born in Russia and was trained at the Perm State Ballet Academy.

She was an Honored Artist of Russia (2000).

In 1977 she graduated from the Perm State Ballet Academy (class of Lyudmila Sakharova) and was accepted into the Perm Opera and Ballet Theatre as a Soloist. She has toured with the company around the World to countries including Japan, China, South Korea, Austria, Ireland, New Zealand, Oman, Bahrain, France, Germany, Italy and many other countries.

As a soloist of the Perm Ballet she performed the leading and main roles in  ballets such as “Swan Lake” Odette, Pas de trois, Brides, Big Swans, “The Sleeping Beauty” Fairy of Tenderness, Lilac Fairy on Tchaikovsky music, “Raymonda” by Glazunov (Grand pas), “Giselle” Mirta, Batilda by Adolphe Adam, “Don Quixote” Queen of Dryads, Friends,

“Orpheus and Eurydice” by Zhurbin (Eurydice), “Servant of Two Masters” by Chulaki (Klyariche), “Tsar Boris” to the music of Prokofiev (Mnishek) – choreography by Nikolai Boyarchikov; “The Queen of Spades” to the music of A. Tchaikovsky (choreography by Kirill Shmorgoner), “Spartacus” by Khachaturian (Frigia), “Anyuta” (Gypsy, staging and choreography by Vladimir Vasilyev), American, Solveig in”Peer Gynt” to the music of Grieg, production and choreography by Ben Stevenson.

After 25 seasons as a principal dancer with Perm Ballet Company, she retired at the end of 2001. She continued a as Guest Artist with the company performing Character roles like Nurse in “Romeo and Juliet”, choreography by Sir Kenneth McMillan), Queen in “Sleeping Beauty” and “Swan Lake”, Allegory of Spring “Seasons”; choreography by Jerome Robbins”, Elderly Couple “Conditionally Killed” by Shostakovich, Grandmother “The Nutcracker”- directed by Alexei Miroshnichenko.

She starred in the TV film “Cordeballet” (1983, Perm Television Studio).

Since the 2015/2016 season, she has been an assistant to the chief choreographer of the Perm Ballet theater Alexei Miroshnichenko. Starting the 2019/2020 season, she has been an assistant to the head of the ballet company.

Galina joined Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy in 2021, were she shares with students her rich ballet experience, knowledge, and professional skills. She helps these young dancers to achieve their goals.
