Vitaliy Dubrovin, born in Russia, has more than 54 years of experience in the ballet industry.
He was awarded Honored Worker of Culture of Russia in 1997. This is a title given to citizens of the Russian Federation for professional and social achievements.
In 1967 he graduated from the Perm State Ballet Academy (class of Yuri Plakht), in 1980 he received his bachelor’s degree in methodology and pedagogy from the Perm Institute of Arts and Culture center with a degree “ Ballet Teacher”.
Since 1967, he has been an artist of the Perm Ballet Theatre and toured worldwide to countries including all of Europe, South, Central and North America, Australia and New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East, Russia and many others.
The peak of his dance career occurred in the Golden era of Nikolai Boyarchikov. Vitalii was the first performer of the main role in the Rock Opera- Ballet “Orpheus and Eurydice” by Jurbin, and also performed in roles such as: Aramis “Three Musketeers” by Basner, Silvio “Servant of Two Masters” by Chulaki, Boyar and Abraham in “Tsar Boris” on Prokofiev music, Paris in “Romeo and Juliet”.
1978 Vitalii became the first performer of the main part in the ballet “Frescoes of Elsinor” to the music of Shostakovich (choreography by Alexandra Polubentseva).
Also in his repertoire: Paolo “Francesca da Rimini” to the music of Tchaikovsky; choreography by Nikolai Markarianets, Dance with Sabres “Gayane” by Khachaturian; choreographer Lev Borodulin, Groom “Spanish Miniatures” on the folk melodies of the peoples of Spain, Jose in “Carmen suite” Bizet – Shchedrina, choreographer by Larisa Klimova, Friend “Giselle” by Adolphe Adam, Drosselmeyer, Father “The Nutcracker”, Rothbart, Mentor, Spanish and Hungarian dances in “Swan Lake”, King, Groom, Wolf, Cannibal in “Sleeping Beauty”and many others.
Among the latest theatrical works: Pater Lorenzo “Romeo and Juliet”; choreography by Sir Kenneth McMillan, Prince’s Mentor in”Swan Lake”, an elderly couple “Conditionally Killed” by Shostakovich, Grandfather “The Nutcracker”, Director of the Museum “Shaherazade” staged by Alexey Miroshnichenko.
In 1983 he starred in the TV movie “Cordeballet” produced by the Perm Television Studio.
From 1975 to 2016, he was a teacher of duet dance at the Perm Choreographic Ballet Academy.
1991 through 2015 he was the head of the ballet company of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater.
He has now joined Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy helping students to achieve their dreams in the ballet field.
Vitalii will be teaching Adult classes, Character dance, Pas des deux and repertoire.
