    FAQ:

    Who may audition?
Any Intermediate or Advanced dance student who has been en pointe for a minimum of two years. The package has been designed for students who reside in Colorado. However, if a student who resides out of state would like to audition, they must submit a video by January 20th, 2018 with a fee of $30. The video should show barre work, centre work, work en pointe and a variation, if possible. PLEASE NOTE: Any student attending who resides outside of Colorado, will need to find, and pay the additional cost for, their own travel to Los Angeles, LAX on June 1st.

Can a parent accompany their child to Russia?
To many, this is the trip of a lifetime! There are so many things to see and there is so much do in and around Perm. We understand the interest that a parent might have to accompany their child. Because of this, we are offering a travel package to a limited number. The cost of $3,000 includes roundtrip airfare from Denver, CO to Perm, Russia (same travel as the student), visa, and Hotel (within walking distance to the Academy). Parents are welcome to join their child for breakfast, lunch and dinner at the dorms for a nominal fee.

    What should the student pack?
Students are allowed to bring one backpack (carry-on) and one checked bag. Please note that students will be responsible for handling their own luggage. We suggest packing lightly. The backpack should be used for all dance shoes, dance wear and other necessary items needed in case any checked luggage gets lost. The weather will be warm.

Does the student need to bring a pillow, sheets, blanket for the dorm?
No. Perm State Choreographic College dorms will provide these items.

Are students allowed to have phones?
It is required that all students have a phone with them. We will require all students have WhatsApp downloaded onto their phone. WhatsApp is a free, fast, simple, secure messaging app and offers calling for free* and is available on phones all over the world. (*Data charges may apply.) Students are welcome to contact parents and loved ones while not in class. We highly encourage parents download WhatsApp, as well.

How much spending money should the student have?
It is recommended that students have enough money for weekend excursions if s/he is interested in purchasing souvenirs or any extras. The amount is dependent upon the child and what the parent decides is adequate. Sending your student with his/her own money card is a good idea.

    Is it safe?
Perm is a beautiful and historic European town with blooming lilacs, incredible shopping, friendly people and a deep appreciation for the arts. Students will never be without a chaperone (faculty and staff of Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy) and there is security at the entrance of the Perm State Choreographic College dorms, 24/7. In addition, faculty and staff of Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy will reside in the dorms on the same floor as our students.

Who from the RMBA Faculty and Staff will be attending?
    Maria Tyukova - Owner/Director
    Alexei Tyukov - Owner/Director
    Kim Chmielewski - Faculty
    Becca Slavin - General Manager

What if there is a medical emergency?
There is a doctor and nurse on staff 24/7 at the Perm State Choreographic College dorms. For all students traveling without a parent, a Power of Attorney letter will need to be signed to allow the Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy staff to make the best decisions for that student should an emergency arise. RMBA staff will have student files with them at all times for any emergencies.

Will the students who attend this Summer Intensive Program receive a discount at Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy's Summer Intensive Program after they return?
Yes! All students who attend the Perm State Choreographic College Summer Intensive Program hosted by Rocky Mountain Ballet Academy are automatically invited to attend RMBA's Summer Intensive Program from June 18th - July 13th and will receive a 50% discount on tuition.
